SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Byron Amos "Buddy" Eastman Jr., 93, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Mennonite Manor.
He was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Hutchinson, to Byron A. Sr. and Myrtle May Siegrist Eastman.
He was a handyman for the Kansas State Fairgrounds, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and the South Hutchinson Lions Club.
On Oct. 10, 1971, he married M. Elizabeth "Betty" Crabbs in South Hutchinson. She died June 19, 2009.
Survivors include: five stepchildren, John Crabbs, Port Arthur, Texas, Wayne Crabbs, Los Gatos, Calif., Edwin Crabbs and wife Italia, Hutchinson, Galen Crabbs and wife Barbara, Sterling, Joann Martin and husband Paul, Hutchinson; four nieces and a nephew, Walter Perrin, Clallam Bay, Wash., Ruth Saranko and Mickie Gillette, both of Valley Center, Alice Baldwin, Holmen, Wis., Arlene Pierce, Lincoln, Neb.; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Perrin.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Ault-Duell presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
