C. Opal Dennis' Obituary
C. Opal Dennis, 97, died Oct. 25, 2007, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 25, 1910, in Plevna, the daughter of John S. and Carrie E. Anderson Dennis. She graduated from Plevna High School in 1929, and had attended Emporia State Teachers College. A resident of Hutchinson since 1948, she was a payroll clerk for Collingwood Grain Co. retiring in 1975, after 26 years.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, and was a former member of the Travel Club, Knife and Fork Club and the Women's Civic Center.
Survivors include: four nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fay and Clayton Dennis.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, the casket will remain closed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, in care of the funeral home.
