Calvin Jacob Troyer, 89, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born May 18, 1925, at Darlow, the son of JS and Sarah (Schrock) Troyer.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and a farmer and stockman. Calvin and his son Clinton belonged to the Great Plains Antique Tractor Club and enjoyed his first place tractor pulling awards.

On May 2, 1948, he married Freda Louise Thompson in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: their children, Clinton (Sandy) and Meshelle Troyer both of Hutchinson; a brother, Ray (Mary) of South Hutchinson; a sister, Esther Miller of Fairview, MI; six grandchildren, Holly (Matthew) Stockton, Michael (Jasmine) Troyer, Jordan (Brian) Webster, Derrick, Dakota and Makayla Troyer; eight great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Albany, Bronx and Vincent, McKenna and Kali, Malaki and Harvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Perry, and two sisters, Bertha Troyer and Mary Harner.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Jeff Slater presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
