Obituary

Candace Elizabeth 'Candy' Kline, 74, of Hutchinson, died September 15, 2019, at her home. She was born July 21, 1945, in Wichita, the daughter of Burt L. and Virginia L. (Streeter) Whitlock. Candy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1963 and Lindenwood College in 1967. She worked  as a reference librarian at Hutchinson Public Library until her retirement. Candy loved cooking and baking, spoiling her dogs, and spending time with her grandson most of all. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church Women, the altar guild, and Daughters of the King.

On April 6, 1968, Candy married Robert J. Kline in The Chapel-By-The-Sea on the U.S. Naval base in Newport News, RI. They shared 51 years of marriage. He survives.

Also surviving are: children, Christopher Kline, Katherine and John Eberly; grandson, Will Eberly, all of Hutchinson; and sister, Toni Brown, Nashville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jessica Whitlock.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Dr.,  Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley and the Right Reverend Michael P. Milliken officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today through Wednesday at
Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cancer Council of Reno County or Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
