Obituary

Carl Melvin Blackburn, 91, of Arlington, died February 3, 2020, at his home. He was born November 8, 1928, in Partridge, the son of Walter and Pearl (Parker) Blackburn. Carl served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime farmer and stockman in the Arlington area. Carl enjoyed collecting antique tractors and toy tractors.

On January 1, 1956, he married G. Pauline Killian in Newton. She died June 27, 2011.

Carl is survived by: children, Bill Blackburn (Janet), South Hutchinson, Lee Wayne Blackburn (Becky), Arlington, Susan Rogers, Kingman, Robert Blackburn (Laurie), Arlington; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Isham, Blanket, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Pauline; grandson, Troy Don Blackburn; brothers, Ralph, Charles, Alvin; sisters, Dorothy Piche and Maxine Boley.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Arlington Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Reno County EMS Station 3, Arlington, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
