LITTLE RIVER - Carl M. Harvey Jr., 69, died June 26, 2012, at his home in Little River. He was born April 8, 1943, in Buffalo, to Carl M. and Treva L. (King) Harvey.

He graduated from Midway High School in 1961 and from Emporia State University in 1966, and later from Fort Hays and Kansas State University. He was a retired school administrator and teacher. He also coached basketball, football, and track for 40 plus years at various levels.

On June 1, 1968, Carl married Reita K. Galliart in Dorrance, Kan. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, David and wife Jackie of Little River, Darin and wife Stacie of Wichita and Daniel and wife Cheryl of Arlington, Texas; five grandsons, Grant and Peyton Harvey of Little River, Joseph Harvey of Wichita, Tucker and Jackson Harvey of Arlington, Texas; brother, Leonard and wife Linda Harvey of Benedict, Kan.; sister, Carol Barnaby and husband Bill of Longton, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Harvey; and sister, Darlene Dorn.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Little River School Gym, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.
