Carl Rank Jr., 87, died Sunday, April 17, 2011.

He was born Feb. 17, 1924, at Abbyville, the son of Carl and Josephine Horton Rank.

He was a 1942 graduate of Abbyville High School, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church, Westbrook Campus, and was a machinist for Eaton Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1986.

On July 17, 1946, he married Evelyn R. Conley at Raymond. She survives.

Other survivors include: their children, Diana Base of South Hutchinson, Gary of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Patricia Charlson of Kansas City, Mo., and Ricky of Salina; a brother, Kenneth of Abbyville; two sisters, Rose Eisminger of Hutchinson and Mary John of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Ervin, Richard and Jerry, and three sisters, Fern Price, Frances Rank Milburn and Carol Howard.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, Crosspoint, Westbrook Campus, 2005 N. Hendricks, with Bob Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present 6 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
