Carl L. Riley, 81, died Aug. 28, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 22, 1925, in Medford, Okla., the son of Thomas William Sr. and Bessie Emmaline Scott Riley. A resident of Hutchinson for 34 years, he worked for ACME Fou-ndry and Smelter Manufacturing, both in Blackwell, Okla., Cessna, Hutchinson, and Kansas Jack, McPherson. After retirement, he worked for Dillon Nature Center.
He attended Grace Christian Church and formerly attended Full Gospel Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
On Jan. 24, 1956, he married Helena Faye Stanley in Blackwell. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Glenn Allen, Hutchinson, and John William, McPherson; a sister, Patricia Murry, New Berlin, Wis.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Dean; and two brothers, Thomas William "Jack" Jr. and Dwayne V.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Darryl Peterson presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
