Carla McConnelee, 71, died Oct. 4, 2010, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita, Kan.

She was born June 25, 1939, to Carl and Adelaide Carver Mershon.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957 and from Sterling College in 1961. She was a retired teacher and enjoyed music and travel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and American Guild of Organists.

She married Pastor Bill McConnelee Aug. 9, 1962, in Hutchinson, Kan. He survives.

Other survivors include: son, Carl and wife Cindy of Bedford, Va.; two daughters, Cathy Pohlman and husband Aaron of Hutchinson, and Cynthia Smith and husband Scott of Shoreline, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson with the Rev. Amy Dame officiating. Burial at Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Kan. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sterling College in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
