Carlene E. Ward's Obituary
Carlene Elaine "Carrie" Ward, 46, died Aug. 2, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born Sept. 10, 1959, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Paul Eugene and Verna Mae Loftis Smith. She received her G.E.D. and graduated from Hutchinson Community College. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she was an employee of Process Improvement Department, Hutchinson Hospital.
She was of the Christian faith.
On July 31, 1976, she married Bret Allen Ward in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: her mother; a son, Christopher K., Hutchinson; a daughter, Megan R. Long, Hutchinson; two brothers, Dennis W., Wichita, and Howard D., Hutchinson; and five grandchildren, Keeli Brooke Ward, Addison James Ehart, Keegan Janae Ward, Haylee Diane Long and Kyler Paul Ward.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Diane; a brother, Bobby Eugene Smith; and her father.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Rick Stapleton and Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
