Obituary

NICKERSON – Carlene Sue Wiens, 72, died March 26, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 3, 1943, in Hutchinson, to Carl and Mildred (Morris) Robinson.

Carlene was a bus driver for USD 309 for 42 years, before her retirement in 2013. She was a car enthusiast, along with her husband. They were founding members of the Mid-State Street Rods Car Club.

She married Gerald Wiens on December 29, 1960, in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 3, 2013. Survivors include: daughter, Kerry Rayl, Hutchinson; son, Gerald Wiens II, Nickerson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Robinson, Hutchinson; sisters, Georgia Pierson, Hutchinson and Corliss Stinbrink, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; two sisters; and a brother.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, in Buhler West Cemetery, Buhler, with Police Chaplain Willard Stafford presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
