Carol G. Johnston's Obituary
Carol G. Johnston, 78, died Sept. 1, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born July 1, 1929, in Norwich, the daughter of Chester G. and Veda Eleanor Wills Johnston. She was a Hutchinson resident for 25 years. In 1947, she graduated from Norwich High School and then the Adela Hale Business College. She was a manager at Cessna Credit Union, Hutchinson. She also worked as a Denny's restaurant manager in California and Texas.
She was a member of the Silver Leaf Chapter No. 464 Order of Eastern Star, Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1371, the VFW Auxiliary and was a 13th and Main bingo regular.
Survivors include: a daughter, Lana Winn, Battle Ground, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Joyce Messmer.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Norwich Upchurch Cemetery, Norwich.
