Carol J. Lemen, 69, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 3, 2011, at Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Clarence and Virginia Torbett Reid.

A lifelong Hutchinson resident, she attended school in Hutchinson and was a member of the Medora Community Bible Church. She was a homemaker. Carol married Phillip Wayne Lemen Sr. on June 17, 1960, in Hutchinson. He died March 18, 1998. Survivors include: two sons, Phillip Lemen Jr. (Terry) and Richard Lemen, all of Hutchinson; a daughter, Kimberly Steffens (Tony) of Wichita; two brothers, Dean Reid of Arlington and Kenny Guy of Hutchinson; a sister, Judy St. John of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Ruth Ann Meyers in 2001.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Fairlawn Burial Park, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association for C.O.P.D.
