NEWTON - Carol J. Miller, 75, of Newton, died Aug. 12, 2009, at Asbury Park in Newton.
She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Nickerson, Kan., the daughter of Vern Cecil and Grace Elsie Mattal Pike.
She was a 1952 graduate of Nickerson High School and attended college in Great Bend and Pratt. A former resident of Nickerson, Hutchinson, Wichita and Stafford, she was an occupational therapist for several nursing homes.
On Aug. 26, 2000, she married Jim F. Miller at the Carey Park Gazebo. He survives. Other survivors include: four sons, James Stahl, Hutchinson, Douglas Stahl, Greensburg, Steven Stahl, Hutchinson, and Donald Stahl, Newton; two daughters, Janice Kirk, Wichita, and Karen Ryan, Stafford; a sister, Jean Yoder, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. James Spence presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
