Obituary

Carol J. Moeder, 72, died Aug. 29, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Carl A. and Esther Randol Kornstett.

She graduated in 1955 from Hutchinson High School. She had been a bookkeeper for both Nash Finch, as well as Wells Aircraft, retiring in 1997 from Wells Aircraft.

She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Carol was an adult convert to the faith and became integral in all aspects as one of the founders of the Legion of Mary. She was a member of the parish Finance Committee, Perpetual Adoration, Ladies Altar Society, was bookkeeper of the religious articles room, and served as a cashier for the spring fiesta and fair stands. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 612 as well as a member of Kansans For Life.

On July 18, 1959, she married Edwin Joseph "Eddie" Moeder in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Dane and wife, Debbie, Colwich, and Troy J. and wife, Stacey, Hutchinson; two daughters, Denise Stewart and husband, Darrell, Hutchinson, and Niki Fiffe and husband, Brian, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Vivian Davies and Laura Mae Parsons.

Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at the church, with Father Brian Nelson and Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, in care of the mortuary.
