Carol J. Wonderlich, 75, died Jan. 23, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She, along with her twin brother, was born March 2, 1940, in Osborne County, to Claude A. and Nellie G. (Denio) Wonderlich.

Carol graduated from Osborne High School in 1958 (where she was co-valedictorian), Fort Hays State University in 1961, and received her Master's Degree in Education from Kansas State College in Pittsburg. She taught second and third grade at grade schools in Oakley and Kansas City, before retiring from Allen Grade School in Hutchinson. Carol taught school for over 36 years. She was a member of the National Education Association and Alpha Delta Kappa, which is a teacher's sorority. Carol was very active at Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and taught children's Sunday school.

Survivors include: sisters, Claudene Lassman and husband Keith of Salina, June Bjercke and husband Robert of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Creta Wonderlich of Osborne; nephews, Mike, Randy and Ron Wonderlich; nieces, Dawnelle Schatte, Carol C. Swalley, and Johanna Lasen. She was preceded in death by: her parents and twin brother, Gerald Wonderlich.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, 300 West 10th, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Richard Brooks officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the City of Osborne Cemetery, Osborne, with Pastor Galen Crippen officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
