Carolyn “Carol” Bennett, 83, of Hutchinson, died September 11, 2026, at Hospice House. She was born February 2, 1943, in Hall, Nebraska, to Hershel and Dororthy (Oeser) Gum.

Carol attended Hutchinson High School. She owned a cleaning business with her sister, Sonya. Carol enjoyed being a homemaker and caretaker, in addition to being a decorator, aerial photographer, and thrift-er.

On December 18, 1964, she married Jerry Bennett. They were longtime residents of Sterling and Hutchinson and shared 51 years of marriage before his passing.

Carol is survived by her children, Angie Enlow (David) of Lyons, Darlene Lapree-Medlock (John) of Hutchinson, Cindy Ayachi of Wichita, Brian Bennett of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael T. “Mike” Bennett; and sister, Sonya Chambers.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Elliott Chapel. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed here.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday at Elliot Mortuary.
