Carolyn Kay McMahon, 66, died June 14, 2006, at her home, Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Salina, the daughter of Goodhardt Lawrence Giersch and Ellen Mae Holmes. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1957, Abilene, and attended Fort Hays State University. A Hutchinson resident, she was as retired health industry worker of 25 years. She was "Kandy the Clown" for more than 38 years through Knights of Columbus.
She belonged to Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, and was a member of Sweet Adelines, Beta Sigma Phi, Altar Society of the church, and was a Hospice volunteer.
On June 27, 1959, she married Pat L. McMahon Jr. in Abilene. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael John, Salina, and Daniel Lynn, Wichita; a daughter, Patricia Marie Kentopp, Rose Hill; a brother, Marvin Giersch, Durango, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding at both services. Carolyn requested casual dress at her service. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Abilene, with Father Henry Baxa presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
