Obituary

Catherine June Ross, 90, died May 20, 2006, at Infinia Nursing Home, Hutchinson.

She was born May 11, 1916, in Virgil, the daughter of Walter L. and Lena Allis Evans. She graduated from Virgil High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1948, she was a secretary at the Pentagon and later was a secretary at the former Carey Salt Co.

She belonged to Forest Park Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

In June 1982, she married Edwin E. Ross, in Newkirk, Okla. He died Nov. 25, 1999.

Survivors include: a stepson, Jim, El Dorado; a stepdaughter, Christy Collins, Florida; a sister, Gertrude Dame, Hutchinson; nephew and caretaker, Everette F. Hayes, Hutchinson; and several other nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace, Otto, and Ernest Evans; and two sisters, Jessie Campbell, and Elsie Ballard.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Virgil Cemetery, Virgil. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Forest Park Presbyterian Church or to the First United Methodist Church, both in care of the funeral home.
