Obituary

INMAN - Cecil Alvin Sweet, 69, went home to the Lord on July 17, 2013. He was born on May 11, 1944, in El Paso, Texas, to Alvin RaDale and Bessie Pearl Gould Sweet.

He was in the Army. Cecil was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. He also belonged to Amvets Post #11, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, V.F. W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, and Kansas Old Time Pickers, Fiddlers and Singers. On July 24, 2009, he married Cherie Janelle Julian in Evansville, Ind. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Ernest Alvin Sweet of Vincennes, Ind.; sisters, Suzanne Davis and husband Sylvan of Hutchinson, Kan., Pearlene Call and husband Terry of Inkom, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sondra K. Meek; and brother, RaDean Sweet.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 E. 23rd Ave, Hutchinson, Kan., with Reverend Ray Kempel presiding. Burial will follow in Windom Cemetery, with Military graveside honors conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church-Canopy Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
