Cecile L. Forney, 98, died April 14, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1907, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Carr Glover. She graduated from Hutchinson High School, and attended William Woods University, Fulton, Mo. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she had worked in the Reno County Clerks Office, for Kansas Grain Inspection and retired from the Kansas Job Service Center.
She belonged to South Hutchinson Christian Church.
In 1929, she married Daniel W. Hamer. He died in 1974. On Aug. 4, 1977, she married Larry M. Forney in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Dana Brown, South Hutchinson; a stepson, Lawrence D. Forney, Hutchinson; a stepdaughter, Beverly Ann Mundy, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Arthur Hamer.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at South Hutchinson Christian Church, with Pastor Brian Barrie presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
