Charles 'Chuck' Eugene Stewart, 64, passed away September 28, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 29, 1957, in Atchison, to Wayne K. Stewart and Geraldine J. Bewley.
Chuck graduated from Goucho High School, Reserve, LA. Due to the nature of his father's work, he lived in 18 states, prior to his graduation from high school. Chuck was employed as a maintenance superintendent by Borton Inc., Hutchinson, for twenty years, and Buzzi Unicem USA, TX, retiring with 13 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Chuck loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids.
On July 15, 1976, Chuck married Maggie Lee Lamb, in Clarendon, AR. They shared over 38 years of marriage, prior to her death on August 1, 2014. He married Mary Alice Wood on April 21, 2017, in Hutchinson, KS.
Chuck is survived by: wife, Mary Wood-Stewart of Buhler; mother, Jo Stewart of Buhler; children, Shawn Stewart of Texas, Dustin Stewart of Hutchinson, Misti (Chris) Byard of Hutchinson, Breanna (Josh Sander) Stewart of Hutchinson, Valerie (Hogan) Smith of South Hutchinson, Cameron (Natasha) Wood of Galva, and Daniel (Hannah Balenti) Wood of Denver, CO; 14 grandchildren; and siblings, Della (Gene) Buchanan of Hutchinson, Chris (Stacy) Stewart of Lawrence, and Pat Stewart of Buhler.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Wayne Stewart; wife, Maggie Stewart; and brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Debra Stewart.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at South Round Springs Cemetery, Hunter. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, TX, or Holy Cross Catholic School, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
