BURRTON - Charles Edward "Chuck" Hill, 89, died Jan. 19, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born June 13, 1917, in Preston, the son of Clayton S. and Edna Siegrist Hill. He was a 1935 graduate of Burrton High School. A lifetime Burrton community resident, he was a farmer.
He belonged to Burrton United Methodist Church and a was member of Kansas Farm Bureau.
On March 19, 1939, he married Phyllis B. Rife in Burrton. She died Sept. 30, 1998.
Survivors include: a daughter, Marva Crecelius and husband, Ron, Burrton; a brother, Robert S. Sr., Wichita; a sister, Marge Mitchell, Wichita; two grandsons, Kevin Jackson and wife, Susan, Caldwell, Idaho, and Kyle Jackson and wife, Renee, Newberg, Ore.; three great-grandchildren, Brett Charles, Lindsey Anne and McKenzie Anne Jackson; and a special niece, Millie Thach and husband, Bill, Burrton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Vernon; and two sisters, Ruth Reed and Helen Watkins.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Larry Ankrom presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery.
