Charles "Charlie" L. Martin, 71, died July 31, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Albert Charles and Thelma (Whitecotton) Martin.

Charlie was an avid fisherman.

He married Esta E. Price on Sept. 1, 1995, in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Pamela Alvarez, and Charles A. Martin, both of Hutchinson, Jay Martin of Coffeyville, Michael Martin of Hutchinson, Jennifer Martin of Wisconsin; stepchildren, Michelle Martin, Johnny Martin, and Tom Crabtree, all of Wisconsin, Leeann Whistler, and Paul Crabtree, both of Hutchinson; sister, Sue Mendoza of Hutchinson; stepsister, Joanna Hankins of Washington; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; six sisters; and an infant son, Roy.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Charlie L. Martin Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
