Charles E. Shuff, 70, died Sept. 1, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 15, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Waldo and Julia (Cavanaugh) Shuff.
Charles graduated from Nickerson High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ranger from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. Charles worked for Shears Construction as a heavy equipment operator for 47½ years.
On Dec. 15, 1968, he married Christina F. Epp in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Karrie Rehe and husband Graham of Palmer, Alaska; sons, David Shuff, and Don Shuff and wife Tanya, all of Hutchinson; sister, Edith D'Amico and husband Vincent of Wilmington, Del.; brother, Emery Shuff of St. John; grandchildren, Amanda Miller, Michael Rehe, Christian Rehe, Kaitlyn Wright-Shuff, Lacy Shuff; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; stepmother, Anna Marie "Betty" (Keeler) Shuff; brothers, John R. Shuff and Kenneth D. Shuff.
Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
