June 4, 1937 – January 3, 2024
Charles W. Studt, age 86, died January 3, 2024, in Hutchinson, KS. He was born June 4, 1937, in Concordia, KS, the son of Charles A. and Juanita Buck Studt. Charles was a graduate of Glasco High School and the University of Kansas. He served in the United States Army for 2 years, stationed in West Berlin, Germany when the wall was built. For over 40 years he was a CPA and retired from Pierce, Faris & Co., in 2002.
Charles was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the AICPA, KSCPAs, Chamber of Commerce, HCC Quarterback Club, HEA, and Reno County Historical Society. Charles also served on the Wesley Tower's Board of Trustees, 308 Endowment Advisory Committee, Public Facilities Advisory Committee, and Gowans Stadium Committee.
On December 22, 1963, he married Patsy I. Van Allen at Sharon Springs, KS. They just celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Survivors include: a son, Wayne (Paula) Studt of Thornton, CO, two daughters, Judy (Shawn) Teichmann of Hutchinson, KS and Debbie (Roger) Neal of Lenexa, KS; six grandchildren, Casey (Tyler) Williams of OK, Cody (Molly) Teichmann of NE, Mark (Erin) Neal of CA, Sarah (Brannon) Hart of KS, Malia Studt of CA and Samantha Studt of CA; two great-grandchildren; brother, John Studt; and sisters, Kathryn Matchette, Jane (Steve) Richard, and Jean (Lorn) Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Monday, January 8, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with Pastor Michael Tomson-DeGreeff presiding. Private family burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
