Charley Joe Bowman, 77, of Hutchinson, died April 25, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
Charley was born Dec. 11, 1934, at Garden Plain, the son of Jim and Mazella Bryer Bowman.
He attended school in Chase, and for 30 years worked in security and was boiler room manager at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was a former member of the Chase Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Chase.
Charley married Gwen Warren on June 27, 1951, in McPherson. They were later divorced. He later married Cheryl Thrasher Wilson on Nov. 18, 1983, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jim Bowman and wife Debbie of Augusta, and Mark Wilson and wife Eliora of Wichita; two daughters, Julie Graham and husband Gerald of Oktaha, Okla., and Stephanie Bedford of Lyndon; a sister, Eva Mortimer of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Charley was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Brenda Bowman, in 1982; a grandson, Troy Matlack, in 1999; and two sisters, Trudy Truhlar and Loretta Inlow.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to service time at Elliott Mortuary.
