Charlotte Lucille Rucker's Obituary
Charlotte Lucille Rucker, 94, died Sunday, May 1, 2011.
She was born May 3, 1916, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Lucille Chitwood Rampenthal.
She was a 1934 graduate of Hutchinson High School, a member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and worked at Montgomery Ward as a clerk with 20 years of service.
On May 3, 1936, she married Viron Clifford Rucker in Hutchinson. He died May 12, 1979.
She is survived by: a daughter, Barbara Morris of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Vicki Rucker of Hutchinson; three sisters, Aline Yoder and Joan Bontrager, both of South Hutchinson, Melva Bornholdt of Hutchinson; three granddaughters, Terri and Stan Oyler of Hutchinson, Darcy and Andy Koch of Rochester, Minn., Kristi and Jon Wesley of Lawrence; and a great-grandson, Kyle Oyler of Andover. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dr. Charles V. Rucker; a brother, Howard Rampenthal; and a son-in-law, Jim Morris.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Mark Conard officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory.
Memorial gifts may be made to First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, in care of the mortuary.
