Cheri L. Jones, 64, died Sept. 28, 2014. She was born April 15, 1950, in Hutchinson, the daughter of George and Mildred (Cunday) Benson.

A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she graduated from Nickerson High School in 1968. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Hutchinson Junior College in 1970 and graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Music in Piano from Wichita State University in 1972. She received a Master's Degree of Music in Piano and Music Theory from Wichita State University in 1974. Cheri worked at the Midwest Superstore since 1994. She taught piano for many years and music classes at Hutchinson Community Junior College and Hutchinson Correctional Facility. Cheri was a member of First Baptist Church and was the pianist there for 20 years.

On March 25, 1988, she married Donald Jones in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Meredith Dubill and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Molly, Grace, and Benson Dubill, all of Overland Park; brothers, Gary Benson of Wichita, David Benson and wife Barbara of Sterling; sister, Marci Stowell of Olathe; brother-in-law, Russ Guthrie of Salina; stepdaughter, Tammy Kuntz and husband Todd of Abilene; stepson, Rob Jones and wife Darci of Nickerson; and six step grandchildren. Cheri was preceded in death by: her parents and a sister, Connie Guthrie.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 8th and Main, Hutchinson, with Pastors Tyler Vance and Jim Autrey officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
