Chris Freeman, 23, of Hutchinson, died August 22, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita. He was born September 1, 1987, in Hutchinson, the son of Rodney Guren and Linda Gore Cooper. He attended schools in Nickerson.

Survivors include: a son, Anthony R. Freeman, Newton; his parents, Dennis and Linda Cooper, Burrton, and Rodney Guren, Hutchinson; a brother, Dustin Belote, Sterling; stepbrother, Aaron Cooper, Topeka; a stepsister, Cori Webber, Silt, Colorado; his grandparents, Bill and Merideth Wilken, and Jim and Sure Gore, all of Nickerson; and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lois Guren.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with dinner at 5:00 p.m. at the Homebuilder Shelter in Carey Park, Hutchinson. A register book may be signed 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and until 12:00 on Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
