Christopher Lucas Stephenson, 35, of Belton, MO, died January 24, 2021, at his home. He was born October 2, 1985, in Hutchinson, to Dan and Gail (Ayers) Stephenson.
Chris graduated from Buhler High School in 2004. He immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served until 2007. Chris received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in Iraq.
He graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in business from Avila University in 2012. Chris worked as an electrical technician for Johnson Technology. He volunteered with Wounded Warrior Project and participated in their games, medaling in cycling, shooting, shot put, and swimming. He also did competitive shooting with Team Camp Valor, designed apparel for wounded veterans with 'Fashion Has Heart', and was a member of Heartland Heroes.
On December 31, 2013, Chris married Kirsten Hallacy, in Independence, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are: sons, Daniel-Brydon and Max Stephenson; parents, Dan and Gail Stephenson, Hutchinson; brothers, Alexander Stephenson (Sara Potter), Hutchinson, Aaron Stephenson, Green Bay, WI, William Stephenson, Hutchinson; aunts and uncles, Jeane Ann Cunningham, Hutchinson, Sharon Leslie (Jerry), Canon City, CO, Kathy Wilson (John), Wichita, Ed Stephenson (Angela), Hutchinson, John Stephenson (Deana), Hutchinson, Joe Stephenson, Bradenton, FL, Shane Stephenson (Andrea) Kansas City, KS, Harry Ayers Jr. 'Bud' (Lynn), Wichita; numerous cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother, Mickey Stephenson.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5 th Ave., Hutchinson, with Father Michael J. Maybrier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with family present from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Teresa Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
