Obituary

Clara C. Luman, 75, died June 15, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, due to an accidental fall in her home June 4.

She was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Sylvia, the daughter of John K. and Laura Jane Helm Nusser. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1948. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she moved with her family from Sylvia in the early 1940s. She was a retired clerk at Sears and worked for the food service department at USD No. 308.

On March 28, 1948, she married Robert "Bob" Luman in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Mike and his wife, Terry, Nickerson, David and his wife, Debbie, Lawrence, and Steve and his wife, Barbara, Hutchinson; two daughters, Betty Jo Luman Schmickle and her husband Joe, Hutchinson, and Ronda Bigger and her husband Jim, Alamogordo, N.M.; a brother, Wilford Nusser, Hutchinson; a sister, Laurine McFall, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother, Leo; her parents, and a stepmother, Lela Nusser.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
