Clara G. Solida, 92, died Dec, 24, 2009 at Buhler Sunshine Home, in Buhler.

She was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Webb City, Mo. to Oscar H. and Rosa Templeton Gardner.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany Church of The Nazarene. She volunteered at the Reno County Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

On June 20, 1936, she married B.F. "Ben" Solida in Wellington. He died July 20, 2001. Survivors include: a daughter, Margaret Mullins and husband Larry, Hutchinson; a sister, Joan Lintecum, Raytown, Mo.; sisters-in-law, June Gardner, Raytown, Mo., Betty Solida, Hutchinson, Aliene Solida, Amarillo, Texas, Ilene Heminger, Vacaville, Calif.; three grandchildren, Julie McCoy, Hutchinson, Melissa Ancheta and husband Dexter, Benjamin Solida, both of Aurora, Colo.; a step-grandson, Mitch Mullins, Hutchinson; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Michael; granddaughter, Kristy McCoy; and three brothers, Forrest, Hubert and Matthew.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Darrell Bisel officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Bethany Church of The Nazarene or Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
