Obituary

Clarence Eugene Ehrlich, 81, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 15, 2012, at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson. Clarence was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Ellinwood, the son of Emmanuel and Leah Nuss Ehrlich.

Clarence was a 1951 graduate of Hutchinson High School. He worked as a construction worker for several companies around Hutchinson, but retired from the City of Hutchinson, having worked in the Parks Dept. and Sewer Dept. He attended First Church Of The Nazarene, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #982, both in Hutchinson.

Clarence married Ellen Wertz on Nov. 15, 1968, in Hutchinson. They were later divorced. Survivors include: two sons, Dan Ehrlich of Hutchinson and Tom Ehrlich and wife Mira of Wichita; a daughter, Dana Eckert and husband John of Hutchinson; three sisters, Rosie Ungles of Hutchinson, Leafa Blount and husband Bill of Dallas, Texas, and Edna Harden of Golden, Colo.; and three granddaughters, Kristen and Kelsey Eckert, and Jaycee Ehrlich. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Raymond, Herman, Leonard and Paul; a sister, Velma Smith; and a grandson, Caden Ehrlich.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Todd Schlosser presiding. Cremation will follow the service, and inurnment will be at a later date in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarence E. Ehrlich Memorial Fund, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
