Obituary

Clarence William "Bill" Fry, 88, died December 6, 2009 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born August 15, 1921 at St. John, to Clarence C. and Thelma Beman Fry.

He grew up in St. John and had graduated from St. John High School. He served in World War II, Navy, South Pacific. Following the war he worked at Douglas Aircraft Co. and Cessna Aircraft from 1949 to his retirement in 1984. After retirement he was active with the Reno County Sheriff Volunteer Program and Reno County Food Bank.

On March 4, 1950 he married Opal M. Hornbaker. She died May 16, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Tim and wife Jenny, Robert and wife Connie, both of Hutchinson. A sister Mary Allam, Wichita. Four grandchildren, Andy Fry, Wichita, Emily and Brad Wolcott, Lawrence, Kim and John Parker, Wichita, Scott and Heidi Fry, Hutchinson. Four great grandchildren, Haley and Sam Wolcott, Zachary Fry and Evie Parker. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Rose Burke and Pansy Smith.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at Elliott Chapel. Friends may call noon- 9:00 p.m., Monday and 9 a.m.-service time Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Reno County Food Bank in care of Elliott Mortuary.
