PRETTY PRAIRIE - Clarence "Dale" Huxman, 82, died Aug. 6, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
He was born Nov. 20, 1926, at Pretty Prairie, the son of Albert L. and Lydia A. Schrag Huxman.
Dale was a dairy and wheat farmer; he also worked as a custodian for Executive Management Services. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie, where he was the church custodian. He was also a member of the Associated Milk Producers Inc.
On June 1, 1950, he married Bessie Schrag in Pretty Prairie. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Dennis Huxman and wife, Alice, Hillsboro; four daughters, Lynette Peterman and husband, Bill, Hutchinson, Cheryl Dooley and husband, Tony, Haysville, Debbie Ratzlaff and husband, Ron, North Newton, Beth Darrow and husband, Roger, Newton; sister, Irene Graber, Pretty Prairie; brothers, Marvin Huxman, Hutchinson, and Alvin Huxman, Pretty Prairie; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Sue Huxman; his parents; two brothers, Milton and Victor Huxman; sister, Mildred Goering; and an infant sister, Ruth Huxman.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie with the Pastor Lester Zook presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery.
