Clarence Leiker, 95, died Dec. 27, 2015, in Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Munjor, Kan., to August and Paulina (Unrein) Leiker.
He graduated from Schoenchen High School on May 28, 1942. Clarence served in the United States Army during WWII. He was the co-owner of Leiker Auto Service and later a machinist for Kingsley-Wagner Supply Company where he retired from. Clarence had lived in Hutchinson since 1947 and was a parish member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #612, Loyal Order of the Moose #982, and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.
On Oct. 21, 1946, Clarence married Irene Braun in Victoria, Kan. She died Nov. 10, 2004. He later married Loretha McMullen on Dec. 31, 2005. She died Oct. 9, 2012. Survivors include: his children, Clareen Olson (Jerry) of Hutchinson, Jeanette Casida of Tampa, Fla., William "Bill" Leiker of Hutchinson, Elaine Frater (Jim) of Wallace, NC, Connie Morales (Mario) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Amy Guy, Kelley Olson, Julie Price (Tyler), Holly Leiker, Sam Leiker (Halie), Jeff Bardwell (Erica), Kacey Bridges (Chris); step granddaughter, Julie Frater; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Milton Leiker of Hays, Benita Boos of Ellis, Norma Fox of Golden, Colo.; special companion, Betty Smith of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by: his parents and siblings, Clarence, Alphonse, Alfred, Edwin, Josepha Baker, Eugene, Arnella Knoll, Norbert, Melvin and Norman Leiker.
Parish rosary will be at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Jan. 2, 2016, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Michael Maybrier presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
