Obituary

Clarence Maier Mollett passed away Sept. 29, 2013, at Hester Care Center in Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in St. Joseph, Mo., to C.M. and Henrietta Maier Mollett.

Clarence was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1940, then attended Hutchinson Juco. After serving in the navy for four years during World War II, he graduated from the University of Kansas. Although Clarence was very successful in business, he would want to be remembered more for his love for his family, his country and the KU Jayhawks.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane of Hutchinson; two sons, Michael of Ashland, Ore. and John and his wife Kathy of Westwood Hills, Kan.; daughters, Kathy and husband Bill Small, and Jane and husband Bill Whitlow, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Louis Mollett of Ashland, Ore., Jon Whitlow of Lawrence, Ben Whitlow of Kansas City, Kan., Sam Small of Kansas City, Mo., Andrew Small of Hutchinson, Patrick Mollett of Westwood Hills, Kan., Carolyn and James Humpherson of Chicago, Ill.; great-grandsons, Oscar and Finley Humpherson of Chicago, Ill.

A private family service is planned. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
