Obituary

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Cleo Fern Kornelson, 83, died June 19, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital emer gency room.

She was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Roy Wallace May and Amy Elnora Stoughton. She was a 1941 graduate of Hutchinson High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, living 28 years in Valley Falls and returning to Reno County in 1998, she was a homemaker and mother, as well as a riveter for Cessna, long distance operator for the phone company and a deli girl for former Dillons Deli from 1961 until retirement in 1970.

She was president of Broomfield Club, Valley Falls.

On June 14, 1946, she married Herman Kenneth Kornelson in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 25, 2002.

Survivors include: a son, John Michael and wife, Joan, Cheney; two brothers, Robert May, Peck, and Ed May, Chappell Hill, Texas; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Jennifer Kornelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Betty Smith.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Larry Wedel presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
