Cleone O. Michael, 90, died Oct. 31, 2008, at her home, Hutchinson. She was born July 2, 1918, in Trousdale, the daughter of Russell A. and Sadie O. Kuykendall Parker.

She graduated from Trousdale High School in 1936, and Fort Hays State University in 1940, with a degree in home economics.

She was a resident of Hutch-inson since 1946.

Cleone was devoted to her family. She excelled as a homemaker, and her prolific hands produced a wide variety of handicrafts including, tatting, knitted lace, embroidery, china paints, woodcarving, and many others. She grew up on a farm and always lived the values of family, community and hard work.

She belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and PEO Chapter D.

On March 1, 1941, she married Donald P. Michael on their family farm in Trousdale, Ks. He survives. Other survivors include: fours sons and their wives, Drs. John R. and Clara Michael, Salt Lake City, Utah, Kurt L. and Kathy Michael, Baltimore, Md., Dr. Mark A. Michael, Richland, Wash., and Brad L. and Frederique Michael, Chandler, Ariz.; a brother, Welton Parker, Lewis; a sister, Goldie Gifford, Yakima, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Emily Parker and Darline Tandy.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Fellsburg Cemetery, Fellsburg. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed.

Family will receive friends following the funeral at the church.
