Cletta B. Saylor, 74, departed this life and entered her heavenly home Jan. 22, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. The loss we feel here on earth is truly heaven's gain.
She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Coldiron, Kentucky, the daughter of Grant and Josie Howard Saylor.
A beautician, she was the owner and operator of Cletta's Hairstyling. She was also the secretary of Saylor Adjusting Service.
On May 7, 1954, she married Lonnie Eldin Saylor Sr. in Wallins Creek, Kentucky. A devoted wife, she spent 22 years following Lonnie in his military career traveling abroad, yet always providing a loving home wherever they were.
She is survived by her loving husband and family; son, Lonnie Saylor Jr. and wife Sharon, Hutchinson; three daughters, Jewell Carder and husband Vern, Pretty Prairie, Dottie Saylor, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Christine Kipp, Wichita; a sister, Nellie Leach and husband Sill, Wallins Creek, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She has rejoined her parents in heaven along with her five brothers, Robert, Harlan, Hubert, Hobert and Haskell Saylor, and a sister Hulda Saylor.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Siah Edwards and Rev. Richard Manriquez presiding. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice House or St. Judes Children's Hospital, in care of the mortuary.
