Clifford V. Steierl's Obituary
Clifford V. "Bud" Steierl, 84, died March 19, 2006, at Good Samaritan, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 22, 1921, in rural Sterling, the son of John C. and Vesta G. Hawver Steierl. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1940. A longtime Hutch-inson resident, he was a papermaker and farmer.
He belonged to First Southern Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
On July 26, 1943, he married Vera Jane Cruth in Raymond. She died Feb. 20, 2005.
Survivors include: a son, William Steierl, Buhler; two daughters, Jane Ann Cruse, Great Bend and Jean Welch, Ellinwood; a brother, John Steierl, Hutchinson; a sister, Donna Smith, Meade; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at First Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray E. Kempel presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the National Stroke Association, in care of the mortuary.
