Obituary

Clive N. Cunday, 86, of South Hutchinson, died Dec. 12, 2011, at Thorne Care Center. He was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Hutchinson, the son of Frank B. and Winifred Yaughar Cunday.
He attended Yaggy School and Nickerson High School. Clive was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. Clive farmed at Nickerson and worked at Morton Salt for 37 years as a dock leader. He was a member of Nickerson United Methodist Church and Lysle Rishel Post #68 of the American Legion.

He married Merla L. Gregg on Aug. 17, 1947, in Nickerson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Robert Cunday of Mt. Hope; a daughter, Grace Clark and husband Richard of Belle Vista, Ark.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a daughter, Lynda.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Wildmead Cemetery at Nickerson, with Pastor Jennifer Whitt presiding. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Nickerson United Methodist Church, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson KS 67501.
