Clyde A. Pierson, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born April 15, 1921, in Hutchinson, the son of Charles and Isabelle Cole Pierson. A lifelong Hutchinson resident, he worked for Consolidated Rebuilders for 29 years, retiring in 1983.
He belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ and was a member of Reno County Amateur Area Radio Club and Rice County Amateur Radio Association.
On Sept. 25, 1942, he married Maurine H. Buggeln in Hutchinson. She died Oct. 24, 1998.
Survivors include: their children, Trudy Stucky (Al), Sunrise Beach, Texas, Bill Pierson (Bonnie), Hutchinson, Dennis Pierson (Edith), South Hutchinson, Penny Wilt (Brad), Abbyville, and Peggy Webb (Brian Sr.), Castleton; a brother, Gibbo Pierson; two sisters, Veora Abernathy and Roseamond Dunsworth, all of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Thomas Webb, twins, David and Haley Ann Wilt; two brothers, John Paul and Elmo Pierson; and a sister, Vera Firebaugh.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Wayne Dewindt presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County or Eastwood Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home, Hutchinson.
