Obituary

Connie Sue Guthrie, 60, died Sept. 20, 2007, at her home, Salina.

She was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Hutchinson, the daughter of George A. and Mildred Cunday Benson. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1964, attended Hutchinson Community College, and graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Radiological Technology, Hutchinson. A resident of Salina since 1968, she worked at Wichita Clinic, Wichita, moved to Salina in 1968, to work for an orthopedic doctor for 15 years. For the past 22-years, she worked at an OB/GYN Clinic doing sonograms, Mowery Clinic.

She belonged to Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, American Registry of Radiological Technologists and the American Society of Radiological Technologists.

On Nov. 29, 1969, she married Russel Guthrie in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Cameron and wife, Lynda, St. Louis, and Ryan, Denver; her mother, Mildred E. Benson, Hutchinson; two brothers, Gary Benson, Wichita, and David Benson, Hutchinson; two sisters, Cheri Jones, and Marci Stowell, both of Hutchinson; and two grandchildren. Brooke and Parker Guthrie.

She was preceded in death by her father, George A. Benson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nancy Proffitt, and Pastor Gary Salmans presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell -Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Memorials may be sent to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, or the Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, both in care of the funeral home.
