Connie "Ruth" Wilson, 84, a longtime resident of Hutchinson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Center in Buhler. Born March 9, 1927, in Sharon, Kan., to Claude and Glenna Newberry Catlin.
Connie graduated from Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. Connie worked as a secretary for local attorneys and physicians through the years, and she was the owner/operator of Connie's Tax Service for 40 years. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, a secretary for the Silver Leaf Chapter #464, Order of the Eastern Star and was a lifelong advocate for adults with disabilities.
She married William E. "Bill" Wilson on Feb. 18, 1948, in Kingman. He passed away on July 18, 2002.
Survivors include: a son, Skip Wilson (Kim) of Hutchinson; two daughters, Cyndy Miller (Jim) of Wichita, and Vikki Wilson of Hutchinson; a brother, Dee Catlin of Attica; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pete Catlin, Melvin Catlin, Charles Catlin and George Catlin; sisters, Ruby Einfalt, Imogene Fitzsimmons and Geraldine Vandiver.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain LeNora Duerksen presiding. Her casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
