Constance Marie "Connie" Wise, 81, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 10, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Lawrence and Ruth (Henry) Weber.
Connie graduated from Reno Community High School in 1953 and Hutchinson Community College in 1955. She was a homemaker; her purpose and passion being a wife, mother and grandmother. Connie was an avid Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball fan. She was of the Christian faith.
On August 5, 1959, she married Bobby Lloyd "Bob" Wise in Great Bend. He died March 8, 1994. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Erin Wise. She is survived by: sons, Bill and wife Kim of Overland Park, Brian and wife Christiana of South Hutchinson; daughter, Michelle Capps and husband Bob of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Josh Wise of Overland Park, Kelly Thompson and husband Gary, Tim Wise, Terry Wise, all of Kansas City, Missouri, Chris Wise of Pittsburg, Kansas, Amanda Vollweider and husband Brian of Hutchinson, Robert "Bobby" Wise and wife Christi of Wichita, Roy Wise of Lawrence, and Connor Langlais of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Maddilyn Vollweider, Micah Vollweider, Macy Wise, Alyson Wise, Eli Thompson, Mya Thompson; step-grandchildren, Michelle Skillings and Jill Mascarello of Omaha, Neb.; step-great-grandchildren, Noah and Chase Skillings, Christopher, Alissa, and Julio Mascarello; sisters, Carol Norris of Hutchinson, Kay Detter of Claremore, Oklahoma; twin brother, Larry Weber of Boise, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Journey @ South Hutchinson, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Howard Wagler officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Journey @ South Hutchinson.
In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
