Coriene "Corky" L. Furman, 84, died Dec. 16, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Dewey County, Okla., the daughter of Bill and Irene Martin Baird.
She graduated from Canton, Okla. High School and attended Salt City Business College. She was a cashier/business manager of the Montgomery Ward Store, Hutchinson.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was also a member of Altrusa Club of Hutchinson and a former member of the Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of Eastern Star.
On March 25, 1944, she married Edward L. Furman in Hutchinson. He died March 28, 2004.
Survivors include: sons, Gary and Jacqueline, Gilbert, Ariz., and Gailen Furman, Hutchinson; brother, Robert Baird, Canton, Okla.; and uncle, Clyde Baird, South Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Conard officiating. The family requests attendees to dress in casual attire. Friends may call 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
