Curtis D. Fairbanks, 82, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2012, at his son's home in Hutchinson. He was born October 2, 1929, in Hutchinson, to Ivan Bailey and Violet May Lawrence Fairbanks. On July 3, 1958, he married Mary Ellen DeWeese in Newton. She went to be with the Lord on March 27, 1984.

He is survived by: John and Bernadette Fairbanks of Hutchinson, Mark and Dena Fairbanks of Hutchinson, Paul and Kimberly Fairbanks of Friendswood, Tx, Daniel and Debbie Fairbanks of Hutchinson; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Fairbanks of South Hutchinson; sister, Marilyn McCann of Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

Curtis was preceded in death by: his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
