Curtiss E. Hadley, 81, died Jan. 2, 2008, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital, Little Rock, Ark., as a result of complications from heart surgery.
He was born July 6, 1926, in Hutchinson, the son of Eldon and Laura Schlegel Hadley. He attended Hutchinson High School. A resident of Hutchinson, he was the owner of Hadley Floor Covering and Life and Home Protectors Alarm Company. Following his retirement in 1984, he spent many happy days on his farm in Hutchinson, riding four wheelers and playing with his goats.
On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Helen Hale. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Scott and wife Patricia, Tennessee Colony, Texas; two daughters, Karen and husband Fred Herpich, and Rachel and husband Larry Gilley, all of Mena, Ark.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, with the family present. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in care of the mortuary.
